searching for a job

i've been unemployed for about 2 1/2 to 3 years (i'm vague on when i left my job) and i have been looking for the right job for me ever since. i have done a 1 year course to improve my employment prospects, and it's got me no where. i am now considering returning to college to completely retrain and turn my life around in the hope that i will eventually get employment before i hit retirement age and completely give up hope.
